Research Interests
My interest in social networks and online communities began before my studies, as I was immersed in multiple virtual fashion platforms.
This fascination then continued during my studies when researching Twitter Drag fandom, Instagram creative platforms and Facebook fitness groups.
This Live Project topic focuses on the importance of social networks and online communities during the coronavirus pandemic.
Social Networks and Online Communities
Digital Media influences culture, just as culture influences digital media. This is an extremely interesting point of research, as rapid developments in technology allow for extensive exploration.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to sweep across the globe, it is important to look at the affects in the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport sector, which currently makes up 5.6% of the UK workforce, which this Live Project will address.
Digital Media and Culture
The use of social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, has changed how social movements grow and are organised.
As the world progresses, new activist movements develop, leaving room for a large number of interesting research topics.

The case study for the Live Project, 'Lethally Her', provides an insight into how Instagram platforms are used for Feminist Activism.
